Epic Cafe is amazing! I came here over the weekend while staying in June Lake and had one of the BEST Tuna Melts I've had in a long long time. I'll be dreaming of this sandwich. I'd heard rave reviews about this spot from friends who frequent June lake and knew I had to check them out. I came in over the weekend for lunch right at opening. It's a small place so I'm glad I came early. Pro tip - there is not inside dining. This is a grab and go type of a food spot. It's a small cute little building with plenty of signage and all of their menus are outside so you can take a look at the specials and daily menu. Once you walk inside it is pretty tiny and can't fit any more than 3 to 4 people in the waiting/ordering area. You order with the couple at the register and then are encouraged to wait outside for them to call your order. The food seems to take about 10 to 15 minutes if there isn't a crowd so pretty quick for fresh and delicious food. The owners were lovely and super nice. I really love this spot and hope they can continue to flourish in this business. I heard rumors that they might be closing or trying to sell the business? I hope that's not true but just making a note, but you definitely want to come here ASAP. Prices were very reasonable. I walked away with two giant main dishes and two giant slices of dessert for under $40. Every bit here was a 10 out of 10 so definitely worth the price point. As I mentioned at the start of this review, their tuna melt is out of this world. In some ways, it was simple, a nice Mayo based tuna, fresh tomato and cheddar cheese, but little surprises like the capers in the tuna mixture were A+ and unique. The sandwich was super crispy and loaded with tuna and fresh veggies. It was truly delicious and the Caesar salad was a very generous side. 5/5 I loved this dish. I tried a bite of the vegetarian chili and if you don't eat meat, this is a nice option on this side of town. To me the chili was so so but I'm not vegetarian so I think I like a more classic beef chili but for what it was it was good. The cornbread that came with the chili though was phenomenal and just further proof that they are great bakers here. The dessert and bakery menu/offerings are another 10 out of 10. There were so many items to choose from. It was really hard to narrow down a couple of bites that I could take to go with me. I was immediately sold on the lemon bar/cake and when I asked the owner what he would recommend as another choice, he told me to go with the carrot cake and that was such a good suggestion. The desserts here are something I will also be dreaming about!!! I don't have a big sweet tooth but I also can't stop thinking about these bites as they were so delicious. First of all the slices were huge and very generous for the price. The flavors of the cake were amazing, the lemon bar was lemony without being overpowering, and the carrot cake was super moist and delicious. My friend split the desserts with me and she agreed they were phenomenal. Epic Café is truly an awesome local spot to try when you are in town and it was one of the best meals I had on my trip. I love that the community has this spot and if I could have another one of their tuna melt sandwiches tomorrow, I would be happy lady. :)

We stopped in to satisfy our sweet tooth and boy O' boy....Epic Cafe came through. First of all we were greeted by a polite and friendly young man who took our order. My wife ordered hot chocolate which came with a homemade whipped cream, she says it was fantastic. I ordered a coffee which hit the spot on this particular chilly evening. We chose the salted caramel brownie and lemon scone. The brownie was insane!! Soft, caramelly (not sure that's a word) with just enough salt to give it a crunch. The lemon scone was equally delicious. We'd definitely order both items again. There were plenty of clean tables outside that were covered with a type of wind sail to keep the sun at bay. A return visit is a must to try some of their savory items for dinner. Stop in at Epic Cafe for an epic dining experience.

This visit we got the blackberry tea cake again and tried the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. It was a lovely carrot cake. I'd like to try the cinnamon roll puffs next time.

I was told by a local that the Epic Cafe was good, so I gave it try today. You order inside and they have a nice shady patio to enjoy your meal. Super friendly staff. I'm pretty sure the owner is who took my order. I opted for the bbq'd pulled pork sandwich along with a cup of tomato soup and green salad. Everything was delicious. The cherry tomatoes in the salad were so good. I'll definitely be back. Another customer told me the desserts are amazing.

Food Excellent sandwiches and salad. We ordered the mozzarella/basil/tomato and pulled pork sandwiches. They were grilled/toasted to perfection, crunchy outside and soft/moist inside. Salads were fresh and delightfully complimented by the dressing. Ambiance Outside seating but I highly suggest to take your food and eat it by June or Convict lake. Customer service is great Parking street parking I highly recommend this place. I would definitely make this part of my stop while driving along highway 395.

Absolutely delicious food. My Turkey wrap was A-MA-ZING. Just the locally grown tomatoes are worth the trip. The desserts, well don't get me started on those, they are a bakery, so everything is yummy! Lovely outdoor seating area under shade on picnic tables is wonderful. A gem of a place!

Let me start with the carrot cake. Holy mother wow! So so so good! Moist and delicious. A clear winner. We also ordered the special pulled pork panini. Also very good. Perfectly toasted bread. I always worry I am getting bread that will scrape the roof of my mouth to feel like asphalt. This was not a worry here at all. Tried their mushroom soup of the day. This is where they lose a star. Had no flavor and looked like the mushrooms were blended? Would have preferred some sliced mushrooms in it and some salt. We also ordered a cheese steak panini that was okay. Was tender but flavor could have had a little bit more kick. However the bread made up for it! This is a definite must stop and try the desserts for sure!

Really awesome town, small town vibes and great scenery. Outdoor section was very peaceful and colorful. Lemonade was refreshing and good - it just tasted almost a touch bland. The carrot cake was moist and tasty. Good texture too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back. Unfortunately I didn't have to poop while I was here so I can't review the bathrooms. Not sure if they even have any though
